Washing cloth diapers repeatedly in only hot water or in a solution of dish soap (typically Dawn brand) to remove any detergent, natural oils or hard water mineral buildup, residue, odor-causing bacteria or other leftovers from the washing process. Stripping will also remove most diaper cream residue that reduces absorbency in cloth.
