Priming/Prepping
If your absorbent layer is made from natural fibers, you will need to wash them 2-3 or more times before initial use to remove the natural oils. Natural fibers like cotton and hemp contain natural oils that are designed to protect the fiber, but also reduces absorbency. To remove this, simply wash in hot water several times. Dry as usual. This process is similar to Reconditioning diapers that have a buildup. Skipping this step may result in leaks for the first few uses of the diapers, but is easily fixed by simply washing them several times.
